Enjoying my role as tour-guide to the Savage, his reaction to the Library was surprising. The idea of retaining ideas and stories in perpetuity was apparently horrifying; indeed he remarked:
“Ideas are like people; all are beautiful at birth. In their youth they are played with, tested. Mature ideas prove themselves good or bad. And when they die (and all do) they must be buried or burned. The old make way for the new.
Your…‘Library’…is full of idea-corpses. Whether good or bad in life, now they all stink.”
I must admit that placating an irate librarian was somewhat less enjoyable.
Genre: Historical Fiction (I guess so anyway)
Word Count: 100
Been struggling to get to writing recently; work has been busy, my wife has decided to start the Game of Thrones series, and I’ve been chasing Star Wars BattleFront PS4 challenges. So…I’ve been lazy I guess.
I’ll try to do better, I promise.
Anyway, thanks to Rochelle at Addicted to Purple for hosting, and thanks to Sean for the Photo prompt. Check out the other stories or try to write your own here.
Any critical comments appreciated.
Cheers
KT
That’s an unusual perspective, but I can see where the Savage is coming from. Love the story, KT.

What strange ideas the Savage has. I say there’s room for the old and the new 🙂
I’ve given up trying the Battlefront challenges. I just run around and kill people and if that counts towards a specific challenge, then bonus!

Oh I think the Savage is almost entirely wrong…almost. While many ideas are worthy of retention, sometimes I think Certain ideas should rest in peace. 🙂
I got the last challenge two nights ago – take down 10 airspeeders. Not easy 🙂

I’ve been stuck on that one to kill x number of people with that stupid ultra-powerful gun that has a range of about 3 inches. I prefer sniping from a distance while cowering behind cover!

Intriguing story–the title is fantastic–I wasn’t sure what I was in for!

Interesting thoughts. Some ideas stink, yet they are kept around forever. Others are eternally fresh, but only if they take a shower every once in a while. 😉 Great take.

I agree with Savage to some degree. I have a few ideas that probably need to be buried! I can also understand the struggle to write. Sending you good vibes. @sheilagood at Cow Pasture Chronicles

Dear KT,
I enjoyed the analogies. Well done. I can relate to life in the fast lane this week. I’m between two prompts, reading, commenting and replying.
Shalom,
Rochelle
